Expertise

Innovation, through the looking glass

Between the promise (disruption, competitiveness, opportunities) and the reality (rare disruptions, heavy analysis, obstacles to adoption), you need a method. Here are ours.

Innovation tracking

Sourcing, adaptation, assessment and pre-deployment: our A-I-P framework (Analysis, Innovation, Pre-deployment), built on C-K and Lean methods, turns a flood of start-ups and technologies into an evidence-based capability roadmap for the leadership team.

  • State of the art and weak signals
  • Scouting of full, partial and adjacent innovations
  • Multi-criteria scoring and ranking
  • Capability roadmap

Foresight & serious games

Foresight methodologies and serious games (including AI-based, non-digital ones) to help organisations explore possible futures, measure the impact of change and build the resulting strategy.

  • Scenarios and possible futures
  • Foresight serious game
  • Impact of change on the organisation
  • Foresight strategy

Hackathons & co-creation

Organisation of hackathons and innovation challenges on site, remotely or hybrid, over two days or several months, from the municipality to Europe: new solutions carried by students, identification of innovators (start-ups, SMEs), an antechamber to public procurement.

  • Challenge design and organisation
  • Scoring, ranking and coaching of teams
  • Online challenge platform
  • Post-challenge pilot deployment

Tailor-made ecosystems

Building and running dedicated collective-intelligence ecosystems: innovator observatories, SME clusters, incubators, to capture under-the-radar innovations and create a lasting investment.

  • Observatory and qualified innovator database
  • Cluster creation and facilitation
  • Incubation and access2finance
  • Ecosystem platform

Collective intelligence

Collective-intelligence workshops and practices, across and within organisations, to drive change and bring out innovative solutions: creative thinking, good practices of open public innovation, new policies.

  • Creative-thinking workshops
  • User / administration toolkits
  • Open-innovation good practices
  • Change management

Innovation on demand

Create from scratch or assemble innovative building blocks, then transform operations: business model, user and market acceptance, deployment and change management.

  • Assembly of innovative building blocks
  • Business model for an innovative product
  • User and market acceptance
  • Deployment and change management

Artificial intelligence & data science

Data analysis, statistics, modelling and artificial intelligence applied to concrete problems: industrial IoT and predictive maintenance, connected health, precision agriculture. Expertise built by founding and running technology companies, not only by advising them.

Expertise forged by co-founding three technology companies

  • Industrial IoT Asystom ↗ Predictive maintenance of industrial equipment: autonomous sensors, embedded intelligence and AI to anticipate failures.
  • Connected health NOpTrack Connected decision-support patches for the prevention of vascular and cardiovascular risks.
  • Agriculture Caelimp Patented pheromone diffusers for insecticide-free crop protection.
  • Exploratory analysis and statistics
  • Modelling and machine learning
  • Embedded AI and industrial IoT
  • Scoping, feasibility and industrialisation

Method

The A-I-P framework

Analysis, Innovation, Pre-deployment. Integrate existing knowledge, expected constraints, the innovative building blocks to test and the constraints of future deployment: identify, assess, integrate and pre-deploy innovations to reduce risk.

  1. A

    Analysis

Context analysis, identification of drivers and constraints, technology trends and weak signals. We start from the question that needs answering.

  2. I

    Innovation

Identification of innovators and the ecosystem, challenging innovations, scoring, ranking and ability to combine building blocks.

  3. P

    Pre-deployment

Testing, scoring and acceptance of solutions, applied solutions: an evidence-based capability roadmap for the leadership team.

Assess

A multi-criteria assessment

Fewer than 2% of innovations are full answers; fewer than 20% are adaptable; 60% come too early. Our business / technology quadrant positions each solution and guides the decision: adopt, adapt, assemble or wait.

  • 01Technology maturity
  • 02Commercial maturity
  • 03Ability to collaborate
  • 04Investment assessment
